Item Description
9” tall by 12” long by 6.5” wide glazed ceramic figural cookie jar depicting Popeye’s adopted son crawling in inchworm fashion, a bee landing on his behind serving as the handle for cookie jar lid. c. 1950s. American Bisque Co. Cookie jar has scattered usual and typical hairline crazing. .25” spot between Swee’Pea’s head and bottom has darkened with age. Exterior rim of lid has 3/8x1” chip which is not visible when cookie jar lid is in place. Lid has 3 tiny pinpoint dark spots which are not offensive. Overall, cookie jar still displays VF/Exc. This rare item is listed in the Cookie Jar book by Supnick at $3200.00. Extremely conservative opening bid based on that value.
