3x4x11.5" tall toy w/built-in key comes in box w/illustrated label on the lid. 1930s marked "Made In Japan." Box has heavy dust soiling, pair of moisture stains at top left or lid and one side panel, left side panel also has inked text "The Drummer Toy Doll." Lid has four 1" side edge splits, bottom remains tight. VG. Drummer wears fabric uniform; head, arms and feet are celluloid. Hat is complete w/delicate feather plume. He holds a pair of drumsticks and attached at waist is drum constructed of cardboard, fabric, celluloid trim and thin paper drum heads. Figure stands on a wood base. Toy works and plays the drum as his head rocks back and forth. White pants and shirt cuffs are lightly tanned w/age but overall condition of this large celluloid windup remains Exc.
