Item Description
Lot of four 10x14” wooden plaques with attached 8x10.75” brass engravings. ©1980 Looking Glass Productions. “Queen Of Wands, Queen Of Swords, Queen Of Tentacles, Queen Of Cups” engravings are of a fantasy nature, reminiscent of Alphonse Mucha’s work and are tarot card-related. Each has scroll at top with Brunner name and each piece has been engraved “96/100 Frank Brunner.” Each plaque also comes with Looking Glass COA signed by President Janet Brunner. Brunner, a comic book artist and illustrator worked with Marvel Comics in the 1970s, working with mystical and supernatural titles such as Dr. Strange, The Tomb Of Dracula, Man-Thing and Silver Surfer. Brunner also provided covers for Red Sonja and Savage Sword of Conan issues. In the past we have offered portfolios containing Burnner’s mature take on the Alice In Wonderland story. Queen of Swords and Queen of Tentacles have some tarnishes to brass but still display nicely. N. Mint overall.
