We believe the writing in black felt pen was done by Yellow Kid artist/creator R.F. Outcault himself. Box contains four 4x4x7/8” thick wood blocks with zinc plate covered by top surface in copper finish. Comes with four 7.75x11.75” bw sheets of slick paper with 4x6.75” image and text area of art showing Yellow Kid in different situations with hardware and text to match scene. Bottom of text on each page reads “Blank Hardware Co.” indicating area for hardware company imprint. Products advertised include heating stoves, cook stoves, cutlery and window glass. Captions on Yellow Kid’s shirt read “Lets Warm Up, Come And See” and “I Am Going To Cut A Dash.” Glass page has no text on Yellow Kid’s shirt. Top of each sheet (with exception of glass sheet) has suggested date for use and is numbered. Outcault’s name and copyright appear at bottom of each illustration. Proof sheets have 2 horizontal folds as issued for insertion in box. Lt. scattered aging but overall proof sheets and printer blocks are N. Mint. Box remains sturdy with moderate surface dust/aging.
