Item Description
Complete numbered set of seven 11x15” single-sided newsprint weekly newspaper inserts. 1940. Story told of “How The Lone Ranger Captured ‘Silver’.” Chapter sub-titles include “Bandits Shoot Sheriff, Silver Escapes, Silver Battles King Buffalo, Enemy To The Rescue, Ranger Nurses Wounded Horse, Bandits Pursue Ranger, Partners For Life.” Each page has single illustration, including images of Silver and one bw photo image of The Lone Ranger with pistols drawn. Each page also has ad space for Merita Bread with image of Merita loaf and “How Merita Captured…” text block, each week a different virtue being captured including “Quality, Freshness, Flavor, Energy, Purity, Value, The South.” Pages also mentioned to tune in to Lone Ranger radio program. Horizontal fold at center as issued with scattered creasing and other folds from storing. Scattered wear with some small tears along margins. Pages remain bright and clean with some lt. aging. VF overall. Individual sheets are rare (we have only offered a few in our 44 years), a complete set is very rare, let alone in this condition.
