Item Description
1.25” featuring his photo surrounded by green wreath with dark green ribbon bow accent at bottom. Tiny bit of faint spotting around the perimeter. We know from another example this was made by Hoegee of Los Angeles who also made the Socialist button used by Herriman in his Los Angeles Mayor’s campaign. DeLeon joined America’s oldest Marxist political party in 1890 and quickly rose through the ranks becoming editor of the party newspaper (see item #138, a newspaper calendar from 1896). DeLeon eventually assumed party leadership. Rare and Fine.
