Item Description
3.5x5.5”. Text “101 –Copyright 1909 By W.H. Martin/A Quiet Game.” Photo was taken moments after the one titled “The Four Greatest Chiefs Now Living.” See previous item #833. Photo shows same 4 chiefs, same 4 horses, only chiefs are now in a different pose. These photos were taken so closely in time that the black and white horse seen on the left has not moved (remains posed with head up). These are the same Indians but not identified as Indian chiefs. Card is postally used with inked message written Christmas Day 1910 and postally cancelled from “ENID” the next day, Dec. 26th. Photo remains sharp and clear. A tiny trace of a shadow appears behind horses at horizon, apparently caused from postal cancellation on back, o/w clean and glossy. VF.
