Item Description
3.5x5.5”. Text “The Four Greatest Chiefs Now Living. The Original Great American/Copyright 1909 by W.H. Martin-101.” “101” refers to the 101 Ranch in Northern Oklahoma founded in 1893 by Col. George W. Miller whose family fielded the 101 Wild West Show and traveled the United States and the world from 1905 to 1931. Pioneers in movie making, some of the first western movies were filmed on the 101 Ranch. This is a striking image of the Indian chiefs taken the year Geronimo died which gives additional meaning to the text “The Four Greatest Chiefs Now Living.” Lt. scuffs and corner bumps. Fine.
