3x12x2.25" tall tin litho toy comes in box w/nicely illustrated lid featuring spaceship images on top, right and left side panels. 1950s by Masudaya Toys, Japan. The plain box bottom has some long but lt. side panel creases, lid has lt. trace of edge wear but box remains tight and VF. Spaceship has great design and in vibrant colors. Has three long tail fins, one reading "Space Ship X-5." Back end has pair of diecut openings w/green transparent inserts where sparks were to be viewed. Has working friction mechanism but no longer sparks as the flint is missing. Top right side at center has a minor indent noticeable only to the touch. Has some scattered tiny paint nicks but remains totally bright and glossy. Exc.
