Item Description
Each is 1.25”. First reads “Boycott/Mississippi/Boycott” and is from 1964 effort to integrate the Mississippi Democratic party and to block the all-white delegates at the 1964 party convention in Atlantic City. This button is essentially Mint. Second shows clasped black and white hands against a Confederate flag with initials “SSOC” below representing Southern Student Organizing Committee. This group was established in 1964 by white southern youth active in the civil rights movement. The group was most active on white college campuses and brought white students into the civil rights movement and Vietnam struggle. N. Mint and displays Mint. Comes with Hake’s COA.
