Item Description
2-5/16” button with initials above and text below “A Benefit For Safe Energy.” The M.U.S.E. was an activist group founded in 1979 by Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Bonnie Raitt and John Hall. The group advocated against the use of nuclear energy and formed shortly after the Three Mile Island nuclear accident. They held a number of concerts in 1979 and this piece has inked notation on reverse “Durham, N. Car. May 17, 1981.” We don’t know exactly which performers appeared at this event. Center scene of woodlands and rising sun is hand-colored. A very limited issue and the only example we’ve seen. Essentially Mint.
