Item Description
.75” tall slightly convex oval with blue enamel on the rim surrounding center scene of large steamship coming towards the viewer. This company was once the largest independent ship building company in the United States. Reverse of the piece is marked “14k” with initials of maker “D&G” for Dieges & Clust. There are also 3 initials engraved on the back of the piece. Interesting item for a very famous company whose history dates back to the Civil War. At today’s gold prices, intrinsic value is around $65. Also see WWII ship building company “Guard” badge #785.
