Item Description
Each about 7.5” tall. First was issued by “Protective” company of Auburn, N.Y. issued for the state convention in Syracuse August, 1885. Reverse has sewn-on original safety pin. Tan colored fabric has some scattered gray dust stains but still fabric is intact and VG. Second is undated but c. 1900. This has brass hanger and suspension both with celluloid inserts. Bar reads “Volunteer Firemen’s Benevolent Association” with celluloid “Member” bar below holding large and elaborate brass luster frame surrounding choice full color 1” celluloid of fireman with tiny text below “Pat. W&H Co. Newark, N.J.” Silver lettering at bottom “North Tonawanda New York.” The ribbon hangs from a bar making It reversible with the reverse finished in black for funeral purposes and featuring simply silver lettering reading “North Tonawanda New York.” This piece is Exc.
