Item Description
10x12” overall. 4.75x6.25” perforated sheet of 9 stamps. Bottom of each with copyright 1962 Walt Kelly. Issued in 1963 along with Pogo Puce stamp catalogue by Simon & Shuster. Full, unused/un-cut sheet of 9, each with same text, different characters. Text reads “Puce Stamps/Big Zero/Absolutely Guaranteed Worthless.” Some of the characters depicted are: Pogo, Albert the Alligator, Churchy La Femme, Howland Owl, Beauregard, Pork-E-Pine, others. These were Walt Kelly's spoof of S&H Green Stamps. Nicely framed and ready for display. Stamps and frame are Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
