Auction #200 - Part II
Item numbers 1187 through 2776 in auction 200
Item Description
7.25x14” envelope. 1941 Libby Foods premium. Envelope with brown printing in black contains complete and unused premium. ©Famous Artist Syndicate. Envelope has assembly and usage instructions printed on both sides. Front has “Treasure Hunt Game” gameboard. Envelope complete with pair plain cardboard packing inserts. Slightest margin wear and dust soiling on envelope but still Exc. Premium consists of pair of 7x14.5” die-cut stiff paper sheets that are to be assembled to form the Terryscope. These sheets also contain four small punch-out playing pieces for the game. Terryscope body includes illustrations of several characters including Terry, Dragon Lady and Burma. The two Terryscope pieces are made with small mirrors glued on back side. These mirrors are here but have come loose due to the glue drying out. When the glue dried, it shattered into tiny black flakes. Tiny scattered trace of these flakes have adhered to the two punch-out sheets although vast majority are on the blank reverses. The flakes that are on the front are so minute that appearance is not affected. Both sheets are N. Mint. Mirrors have noticeable loss of silvering due to their detachment. Overall Fine. Rare. In Hake’s "Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" it has a book price of $800 in N. Mint. (See TER-13). Last example from the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold, accompanied by a letter to that affect from Gordon Gold.
