Item Description
This is a most unusual 6” dia. sepia and color-tinted portrait of a young girl in costume and holding a baton as she poses on the tips of her ballet slippers. While the image itself is quite unusual, the construction of the piece is even more so. The entire back is covered in brass luster tin. There is a metal attachment that holds a wire easel so the piece can stand upright. Center of the back is stamped “Columbia Medallion Studios/Chicago.” The metal back includes a metal side edge which encompasses the circumference of the celluloid. Tiny traces of wear but Exc. and unique. See additional 6” celluloid of girl on bicycle item #579.
