This wrapper was originally obtained still wrapped around original gum contents and was opened by the collector in order to display the wrapper in full. Wax paper wrapper is 2.5x5.5” with repeated design at center of Superman logo and flying Superman image plus name of the Philadelphia company “Fo-Lee Gum Corp.” while right/left side of the wrapper have repeated image of Superman from the waist up along with NCP copyright. Included, intact and as originally issued, is the segmented block of gum with 4 individual pieces intact. From 1949, gum was sold individually for 1¢ from display boxes. Fo-Lee also produced a rare and much sought-after Superman brass badge. The wrapper exhibits scattered creases as originally wrapped around the gum and also has several hairlines .5” to 1” in length although only slightly visible as flattened. Wrapper has been flattened and put in a small frame so displayable as is and we recommend it stay this way or that extreme care is used to remove in order to avoid further tears. As is, displays nicely with bold designs and color. Overall grade is VG. Gum is in its original issued state. Rare, the only example we’ve offered in our 44 years.
