5.25x7.5” stiff cardboard cover German edition by Meyer & Jessen published 1928. “Josephine Baker Memoiren” with nice caricature bw image of Baker on cover. Text is in German with several bw character images celebrating Baker’s life including her journeys to Germany. Cover has scattered spotting and aging. VG+. Contents remain clean and tight. White pages. Exc. “Les Memoires de Josephine Baker” 4.75x7.5” French paperback by Marcel Sauvage printed 1949 by Editions Correa. Many different-sized pages, book has several bw photos of Baker throughout including some showing her nude/bare-breasted. Given the book’s uneven pages, margin wear is somewhat moderate. Cover has margin wear and color rubs. VG+. Both books are first edition printings. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
