Item Description
11x15.5x1.5” deep box contains 10.5x15” hardcover published in France in 1981. Written by Chan Parker and designed by Francis Paudras with text in English and French. Extremely detailed book with much detail paid to jazz legend Parker’s life and music. 400+ full page bw photos of Parker, his associates, family, personal documents, etc. Majority of pages pulled toward middle of book with signature separations but book still has appearance of unread copy. Defects are the result of how book was bound and due to its large size. Examples of this book with this defect are typical. VF with Exc. contents. Box book was issued in is designed to look like post package with facsimile stamps and mail stamps and brown paper wrapper. Light corner tip wear and Exc. A rare and highly sought after book usually found offered in the $1,000 range. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
