9.25x12-1/8” extensive publication Vol. 121, #40 published Nov. 10, 1952. Nice bw image of “Blackbeard, The Pirate” on front cover as portrayed by Robert Newton. Other highlights include advertisements for films “Ivanhoe,” Walt Disney’s “Peter Pan,” Jane Russell film “Montana Belle,” "Abbott And Costello Meet Captain Kidd" as well as text about Jimmy Durante’s upcoming role as Rip Van Winkle. Publication is loaded with stars, many being pictured including caricature images of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, photos of Marilyn Monroe, Ray Bolger, page advertising Gene Autry Productions showing him on Champion, cowboy star Rex Allen, Grace Kelly, Back section of publication is devoted to TV and radio picturing “Mr. Television” Milton Berle, “The Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet” as well as mention of “I Love Lucy” and “The Jackie Gleason Show.” Sid Caesar and Hopalong Cassidy each have full page bw photo portraits. “The Edgar Bergen-Charlie McCarthy Show” is advertised with nice bw photo image of Bergen with Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd standing behind “CBS” radio microphone. Book also has special studio sections for MGM, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, RKO, Warner Bros., Columbia, Universal, Republic, United Artists and independent studios. Massive and thick issue filled with exceptional content. Cover shows obvious and heavy wear and is loose with archival tape repairs to inside spine tears. 3” piece of spine missing at bottom left. Good. Pages themselves show lt. wear and are VF for the most part. Limited issue. Scarce. Additional photos online.
