This design is typically from a 1930s series with newspaper name “New York Evening Journal” or “New York Sunday American.” Examples with the imprint of this southern newspaper are rare and the only others we know of in the series are Barney Google, Buttercup, Ignatz Mouse, Jiggs, Sparkplug, Skippy and Tillie. Button has very slight dent on left side and tiny black mark under letter “T” of “The” as printed.
