Item Description
This is a 1” litho button from the Hake Collection and CPB. Button reads “TV Forecast On Sale At – All – Leading – News Dealers.” This was the first continuously published “TV Guide” type of magazine in the United States, launched in Chicago, May 9, 1948. The first issues of TV Forecast were given away but by 1952 paid circulation had reached almost 200,000. In 1953 Chicago’s Television Forecast, Philadelphia’s TV Digest and New York’s TV Guide were combined to form the national publication TV Guide.
