Item Description
The famous jeweler’s line of gold charms and a few related jewelry pieces issued for 1940 are shown in the Disneyana book by Munsey page 137. This beautiful piece is 1” tall in choice enamel on gold with the only defect being a near pinpoint of black missing just below the fixed loop at the top center of his head. Missing color completely blends in with the rest of the design and is apparent only with close inspection. Reverse of the piece reads “©W.D. Ent. 14K.” In addition to this rare charm, Cartier made Snow White and six Dwarfs as charms plus Dopey as a money clip. There were 7 different charms for Pinocchio, an Ugly Duckling charm,(this charm) and Ferdinand as a pin. As best as we can recall, we may have seen one other example of this line in the past 4 decades. Rare.
