Item Description
8x14” thick sheet of artboard features 2 great images done in pen and ink/watercolor. The Pinocchio image is 3x3.5” while Jiminy is 1.5x1.75”. Unsure what the art was used for but most likely some type of promotion prior to the film’s release. There is a blank area between the 2 characters, apparently representing a sign or similar item and Jiminy has vertical line which he holds onto while Pinocchio has horizontal line he sits atop and points towards the blank area. Pencil text at bottom center margin reads “Reduce One-Third” while at lower right is “F.A. 3716” plus date 12/8/1939 which is prior to the film’s release date of Feb. 7, 1940. Reverse has ink stamp reading “Property Of Walt Disney Productions/Not To Be Used Without Permission.” Top margin has 1” wide band of tan glue staining not affecting art and could be easily matted out. Artboard has additional lt. margin aging. Overall Fine but art itself is Exc. Unique.
