Item Description
c. 1931. 17” tall to tips of ears when fully extended. Built-in key. Stitched to shirt is fabric ribbon which serves as his belt and visible text reads “Oswald The Lucky/Copyr’t’d. Universal Pictures Corp.” Velveteen face while rest of fabric-covered body is cloth and felt. Leatherette shoes with strings. Inner body has cardboard covering around wind-up mechanism. Toy works and when wound, rocks back and forth as it slowly moves forward. Face shows age toning with scattered tiny tan dots. Fade to shirt more so on sleeves than chest area. Other lt. aging. Still a structurally sound and VG/Fine example. Only the third we’ve offered in the past decade.
