Item Description
Disney’s right-hand man Ub Iwerks left the studio to try his success with his own character. Flip enjoyed brief cartoon success and most related merchandise (including this pair) is c. 1930-1932. First is 3.75” tall in striking bw design reminiscent of how the cartoons themselves appeared. Front features raised image of Flip leapfrogging a Horace Horsecollar-like horse. Sides feature raised fence and grass plus clouds in the sky. Front bottom right corner has 1/8” surface flake only noticeable upon close inspection. Still glossy and VF. Second is 6.5” long done in color and depicting Flip using a pig as a wheelbarrow. Underside marked “Made In Japan.” Lt. aging but glossy and Exc.
