Auction #200 - Part II
Item numbers 1187 through 2776 in auction 200
Item Description
This 1930s ring is all brass and without an adjustable band. Top has high relief lion’s head with detailing in the brass representing his mane. There are 2 small green accents for his eyes and in his open mouth is an inset ruby red faceted stone. Glossy luster if it had any is gone but all surfaces are a very nice clean brass tone and the ring displays Exc. Design is similar to the rare 1935 premium issued for Clyde Beatty by Quaker Wheat Crackles. However, that ring has adjustable bands and there is no jewel or color accents in the eyes or mouth. Its likely the ring we are offering came from a novelty firm such as the famous company Johnson & Smith. Scarce and very attractive.
