5.25x9x5” deep box contains toy with built-in key that has total height of 13” tall. 1950s. Lid features illustration of Snow White with the Dwarfs dancing around her, above her are roses and butterflies flying about. Lid is well worn and incomplete with some missing pieces from side panels, tape repairs. However, box bottom shows only lt. aging and is tight. Lid is just Fair but easily restorable. Toy consists of tin litho flower pot 3.25” tall. Wrap-around art depicts Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs standing on grass with daisies around them, nighttime scene with stars in the bkg. Top has felt covering and attached to this are artificial flowers as well as 3 long thin wires with fabric butterflies on the ends. Toy works and has music box mechanism which plays a lullaby as the butterflies rapidly flutter and move about as if flying overtop the flowers. Fading to the flowers more so noticeable to the three red ones as opposed to the two yellow ones. Dust soiling. Base has tiniest trace of wear and remains bright and glossy. Base Exc., all else Fine. Superb design, one of the most interesting Line Mar toys of the 1950s as well as one of the rarest. This is the only example we’ve offered in our 44 years.
