Item Description
5x7x7" tall solid wood with pressed wood composition panels on 4 sides. Each panel has great high relief image of Mickey playing a different instrument. Prior to this discovery, 2 versions were known. One is in solid brown with no color accents to the figures. The other has the wood body painted cream with the Mickey images painted in color. This first we've seen example is in brown except for Mickey on front which is painted bw/red and as produced. Front has small "Emerson Mickey Mouse" metal plate, additional Emerson plate attached to the wood back panel which is also present. One wood knob is original, the other is a professional replacement. Has complete and intact fabric speaker cover. Underside missing 2 of the 4 small rubber feet. O/w complete and all original including tubes and electric cord but we were not able to get it to work. Top panel has a pair of divots of missing wood, one 1/8" by a musical note, the other .25" and from Mickey's arm/piano keys. Body has moderate scattered rubs to the brown coloring of the wood, painted Mickey has scattered traces of wear but about 85% paint remains. Still a Fine example of this classic piece of Disneyana and the only example we know of of this variety. From the Deak Stagemyer Collection.
