Item Description
6x21” tin litho sign for metal stamping outfit Adco Liberty who manufactured steel lunchboxes for just a few years, 1954-1956. Adco apparently stopped making lunchboxes after running afoul of the Disney organization for including Kit Carson, a non-Disney character on an “Official” Davy Crockett lunchbox (see item #2241). In late 1956 Disney turned over to Aladdin the license to make its lunchboxes. This sign features Disney characters carrying flags/pennants which read “Mickey Mouse Club/Donald Duck/Mickey Mouse.” Characters shown are Mickey as bandleader along with Donald and his nephews, Pluto, Jiminy Cricket, Peter Pan, Goofy, Snow White and Pinocchio. Obvious wear and aging, some scattered crease lines/indents, scratches, traces of oxidation although mostly to left/right side edges. Still retains a glossy appearance. VG. Rare.
