Item Description
11x14.25” piece of stiff illustration board has 7x8.75” image area done in watercolors depicting noted vaudevillian, radio and movie star Ed Wynn in his “Texaco Fire-Chief” outfit holding a “Stop Here” sign. The edge of a horse’s head and a radio microphone with partial “ABC” call letters for the Amalgamated Broadcasting System, a short-lived radio network that Wynn himself founded and lasted for 5 weeks in 1933. “Texaco” gas pump is seen in bkg. Artist signed in pencil by artist Dorothy C. Snoops though we are unsure what its use was. Nice comical image of Wynn. Artboard edges show wear and dust soiling but if matted and framed would display VF.
