Item Description
5x8x1" deep box contains set of four 2.25-4.25" tall action figures by Kenner ©1977, 20th Century-Fox Film Corp. Set consists of R2-D2, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker with additional plastic pegs for posing figures. General Mills Fun Group, Inc. premium. Kenner used this mail-away promotional offer in order to get Star Wars action figures to consumers before they hit store shelves as they were not able to get their figures to market in time for the 1977 holiday season. Offered in a special "Star Wars Early Bird Certificate Package," consumers could send away for this kit offered here. The plastic pegs were used for attaching figures to the plain cardboard stand included in the Early Bird Certificate Package. With the exception of Luke Skywalker bag, all figures remain sealed in their original bags and Vacuform plastic tray and set is complete with Kenner catalogue advertising the first 12 figures in the Star Wars Action Figure line as well as vehicles and various activities/games. Also included was another mail-away offer for the Early Bird Premium Collector Stand (see following item #2749). Chewbacca figure has age frosting to one leg and some scattered lt. frosting to both arms but o/w figures are Mint as sealed. Luke Skywalker comes with non-double telescoping lightsaber version. Box has scattered aging and wear. Fine+.
