Item Description
Pair of large stiff cardboard mounts each 12x14” holding paper print 7.75x9.5” vertical and 7.5x9.25” horizontal. First shows assembled equipment with oval insets of police officers above and row of tin containers, some reading “Sinclair Oil” lined up in foreground. Both photos have penciled name on back “Mr. Caron.” This has imprint on mat “Day Studio/Stamford Conn.” and rubber stamp on reverse with same name but Merrick, Mass. address. Second shows still with venting pipes in foreground and full figures of the policeman posing proudly with their prize. No studio name on this one. Tiny bit of mount corner tip wear but all else super clean. A great pair of prohibition era large original photos. From the Richard Merkin Collection. Comes with Hake’s COA.
