Item Description
12.5x14.75” overall. Ceramak was riding in a car with president elect Roosevelt on Feb. 15th, 1933 when an assassin attempted to kill Roosevelt by firing 5 shots. All of them missed Roosevelt but one hit Cermak in the stomach. He allegedly said to Roosevelt on his way to the hospital “I Am Glad It Was Me Instead Of You.” He died March 6th of his wounds. Very minor age mark at right margin. Backing paper is brittle and split at edges, o/w N. Mint in original frame.
