Item Description
The typical hatchet pins bearing the name of this saloon-attacking crusader are made of dainty 3” long brass handles with mother-of-pearl blades. By comparison, this monster is 9.25” long with a 3” tall wedge-shaped blade. While over-matched for wood chopping, this nearly one pound hatchet would obliterate any whiskey bottle it met. Very small loss of plating and each side of blade has small area with tiny shallow indent marks. One side of handle has large high relief text “Carrie Nation” with the word “Hatchet” implied by the object itself. Fine and a rarity in this large size. From the Morry Greener Collection.
