Item Description
Paper poster 23x29” captioned lower right “Chicago-August 28, 1968/Photo By Jay Cassidy” and signed below in ink “Jay Cassidy.” Photo was taken from perspective of 3 demonstrators covering their faces and crouching to ward off tear gas fired by 10 uniformed troops wearing gas masks who face the camera with city office buildings in the bkg. Poster has numerous all-over but quite small handling creases. Reverse has 8 small tape stains from original display, probably c. 1968 on a student’s wall. Overall Fine and clean condition but would frame to Exc. appearance. Only example we’ve seen. A classic of the most violent anti-war demonstration up to that time which shocked the nation watching on TV. From the Morry Greener collection.
