Item Description
First is a 2.25x3.75” two-tone luster stiff plate of brass designed as a card. There is no name inscribed but these were given to delegates and text reads “The Courtesy Of The City Of Philadelphia Is Extended To (blank) Attending The Democratic National Convention July 12th-16th 1948.” The next 5 items are .75” to 7/8” Truman name buttons. The one reading “Forward With President Truman/’No Retreat’” is a popular and scarce celluloid while the other 4 are litho. Next is a .75” button with an 8-ball design, sometimes associated with Truman. Next is 1.5” portrait button c. 1948 reading “Our President Harry S. Truman.” Exceedingly tiny 3/8” trace of stain on top edge. Still displays attractively and with full gloss. Last are a pair of 1.25” hopeful buttons. The first is for Herriman and features the name “Truman” partially crossed out. Second reads “Harry Move Over/Make Room For Kefauver.” This has tiny air dot at far right. Vast majority are Exc. to Mint. Well over $200 value in the Hake 2004 Revised Prices.
