Auction #201 - Part II
Item numbers 1409 through 3152 in auction 201
Item Description
11.5” long by 8” tall straw-stuffed fabric doll with felt “Spark Plug” horse blanket. Fabric face has painted facial details that show wear and strip of fabric representing mane. Original string bridle/reins remain. Mechanical doll functions as an oversized ramp walker, letting gravity move it forward via free-moving feet. c. 1920s. Silk-screened “Spark Plug” name and simulated patch on horse blanket show heavy wear and remain barely legible. Blanket shows wear and is VG. Doll itself has back left foot restored. Mechanical action functions and doll stands upright on its own. Fine overall. Few known examples of this doll exist.
