Item Description
Three 8x10.5” magazine/pressbook format publications published by Universal Pictures between Jan. 7-May 19, 1928. Volume/issue numbers include: Vol. 26, #22; Vol. 27, #s 5, 15. Each issue has been folded vertically at center for likely mailing to theaters as publications dealt with upcoming features from Universal Pictures. First features bw photo cover of cowboy actor Hoot Gibson and promotes his upcoming role in “The Rawhide Kid.” Last 2 issues both feature Conrad Veidt in his classic role as Gwynplaine in the 1928 silent film “The Man Who Laughs.” One issue features an art image of Veidt with a scarf across his disfigured mouth, the other features bw photo of Veidt with female lead Mary Philbin. Magazine contents are heavy text promoting upcoming films and stars. Scattered handling wear with later issue showing spine wear. Fine overall.
