Item Description
This wonderful color 2.25” button is by Brian Campbell with his facsimile signature on the lower right edge of the button. This is a limited edition and done before the days when Campbell marked the buttons’ reverses. On this button, the bottom edge is marked with numbers “18/40” which indicates only 40 were produced. This is one of Campbell’s most popular designs and was inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s 1960s movie “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb.” On the button, Bush replaces the actor Slim Pickens who played the character Major ‘King’ Kong who rides the bomb out of the aircraft, in this case with the map of “Iraq” in the bkg. and Bush holds his Uncle Sam hat, bomb harness and hollers “Eee-haaa.” Mint.
