Item Description
First thin artboard is 4.25x6” tall with 3” gouache/white-out original art in center of pirate holding knife in teeth with hand-lettered text in India ink at top and bottom. Right side has blue pencil lines not affecting painting. 1930s. Second artboard is 7x7” with 4.5” India ink image area in center with pirate holding sword between teeth just above crossbones design with text “Member Penney’s Pirate Club” hand-lettered text. 1930s. Image area Exc. Both designs were used on pin-back buttons. (See previous item #2796). Unique with great designs. From the Parisian Novelty Co. of Chicago archives.
