Auction #201 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1408 in auction 201
Item Description
5-3/8x18” wooden frame has fabric under glass which is designed as program and menu for 14th annual dinner held in NYC at Hotel McAlpin May 31, 1918. Top portion reprints early image of man with miniature doll and magic tricks on table. Text of events include singing of Star Spangled Banner, Feast of Magic and “Bobby Houdini The Only Handcuff King Dog In The World Presented By His Trainer Houdini Himself.” Master of Ceremonies was Theodore Harden. Original frame is a bit worn around sides and back has dust soil and tanning. Fabric has st. fade with scattered lt. wrinkling here and there which professional re-framing would help. Fine. First we’ve seen. Unique item, due to fragile nature of fabric. Nice design.
