Item Description
Letter is 8.5x11” dated June 15, 1939 sent to Skelly Oil dealers for promotion of “Spartan Bomber Model Aeroplane Kit.” Letter has two horizontal folds as mailed, coupon has glue stains at 3 corners, upper right corner of letter has glue stain and blank reverse has 2 glue stains. Fine. Folded assembly sheet is 8.5x8.5” and opens to 16.75x33.75” with elaborate and highly detailed instructions to build plane on both sides. Kit was available from Captain Midnight Flight Patrol Headquarters through Skelly in Kansas City, Mo. Post paid for $1.00. Assembly sheet came with poster. Bottom edge of assembly sheet folder has .75x8.5” glue stain which bleeds through a bit to reverse side. Folded as mailed. Exc. appearance. All unlisted in Hake’s Guide. Scarce. See next item #2436.
