Item Description
1960. The 1959 Ideal 8x8” plastic helmet was white. This example has been painted silver for presentation purposes and comes with 2x4” metal plate with link chain for hanging. Text on front of metal plate reads “Presented To Al Nordstrom From His Friends At Ideal Toy In Appreciation Of His Suggestion Which Resulted In This The One Millionth Helmet 1960.” Obtained directly from Al’s son. Al was in the toy business and had a working relationship with Ideal. Helmet has scattered lt. to moderate wear with a bit of silver paint gone from top and back sides. Plate and chain have some lt. oxidation. Overall Fine. Unique item relating to the popularity of Milton Caniff’s comic strip character as well as Ideal Toys.
