12.5x16.75x1.5” deep fabric covered heavy cardboard box has nice lid graphics of 2 explorers on ground facing angry polar bear with Zeppelin in sky. German. c. early 1900s. Contains 11-1/8x11.25” fabric-covered folded game board which opens to 22-3/8x22.5” with service map of North Pole which includes Canada, Alaska, Siberia, Greenland and Russia. Contents also include fabric covered thin cardboard shaker, 2 wooden dice and hand-painted die-cut metal playing pieces including 1 Zeppelin, 2 explorers, 2 American flags and 1 German flag. Game is totally reconstructed. Original lid label is in Fair condition, glued to newly-made box as are instructions in German glued to inside lid. VG. Original gameboard has been reconstructed with original game graphics glued on. Fine. Dice have surface color rubs. VG. Original figures have scattered lt. wear but overall Fine. Nicely designed.
