Item Description
Issued by Quaker Oats in 1939. 1.25x2.5x14.25” original corrugated cardboard mailer with Dick Tracy name on return label is addressed to recipient in Clarks Summit, Pa. Box holds complete 4-piece airplane made mostly of balsa wood with silkscreened designs on the parts as well as metal clips/braces and stiff paper tailfin. Tracy’s portrait in star design on wings and tails. Also comes with rubberband attached to stick for projecting plane and instruction sheets. Plane is made by Miami Wood Specialty Co. Dayton, Oh. Box has lt. dust soiling with a few lt. pencil notations. Fine. Illustrated instruction sheet has been lightly folded horizontally through center and is tanned with a few tears at left side. Good. Right balsa wing has a few small splits but was not broken. Original rubberband has hardened with age. Contents overall Fine/VF. Rare to find complete and boxed.
