Item Description
11.75x14.75” wood frame has archival mat with 7-3/8x9-3/8” opening revealing nice photo of well-dressed Alvarez smiling and holding Panama hat behind a car with his name on trunk. c. 1940s. Displays Exc. as framed. Alvarez (1912-1967) fought between 1938 and 1946, winning 122 bouts with 70 knock-outs and losing 41 fights. Eleven bouts were a draw. Born in Tampa, FL, his real name was Abel Alvarez. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
