1937 Grosset & Dunlap. 9.5x10.5” hardcover book with dust jacket. Has 36 pages illustrated in large full color or smaller bw. Story takes place in tropical country of “Pettalulu” and involves Popeye, Swee’ Pea, Wimpy, Olive Oyl in addition to Olive’s cousin Mazie and other characters of Mr. Works and Mrs. Flotscham and tropical monkey Poo Foo. Front cover has nice art of Popeye, Swee’ Pea and monkey eating spinach. End papers have nice art of Popeye smiling at ship’s wheel. Dust jacket has lt. aging and dust soil, a few color rubs around edges and corner tips. Fine. End papers have trace of lt. tanning. Book o/w VF/Exc. Choice condition for this title and scarce with dust jacket. Bright color and great design.
