Item Description
Layers of red, yellow and black Bakelite are laminated to thickness of 3/8” and then deeply carved with a tapering edge to reveal the three colors on this pin 2.25” tall by 2.75” wide. Reverse has riveted bar pin with safety clasp. Eagle and shield emblem and five rivet head accents of brass are naturally tarnished with age but would clean to brass luster if desired. This popular and rare early World War II patriotic pin is pictured (with $650.00 value) on page 47 of the 1997 Bakelite Jewelry reference by Wassertrom & Pina. Near Mint.
