Item Description
7” dia. 45-rpm and 10” dia. 33-1/3-rpm records by Simon House Inc./BMI. c. 1954. Marilyn Monroe signed a contract in Oct., 1953 with RCA Records though she never recorded an album. She did in fact, record 3 singles, these 2 records being the first “I’m Going To File My Claim/River Of No Return” which were eventually released Apr. 9, 1954. These records do not list song titles or Monroe’s name, instead reading “Who Is She” with a large red question mark and additional text “She’s Gorgeous…Her Name Is A Household Word! Your Guess…Ask Your Listeners To Guess!” Both records are promotional radio station discs that were released to the airwaves as teasers prior to the official release. 7” has inked song titles and scattered aging/dust soiling. Larger record has inking on one side and scattered age spotting on both labels. Records show lt. wear with some lt. scratches and are VG+ by record-grading standards. Rare.
